United States: Fort Meade attack not act of terrorism /update 1

Event

The FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) has stated that there is no reason to believe the car ramming and shooting incident perpetrated outside of the National Security Agency (NSA) building at Fort Meade (Maryland) on February 14 was an act of terrorism. The incident is currently believed to be an isolated incident and the NSA is not believed to be have been specifically targeted. The cause of the incident remains unclear, but the occupants of the vehicle may have been running from police when they accidentally ran into the NSA complex’s gate.

Context

A gunman rammed a vehicle into the concrete barriers outside of the NSA building at approximately 07:00 (local time) on February 14. The suspect then opened fire before being arrested by police. A total of three people were injured in the incident, including the attacker, although not from gunfire. Two other people in the car at the time of the attack are being questioned.
