Uzbekistan opens train service from Tashkent to Russian and Kyrgyz cities March 20, 22 (respectively)

Uzbekistan inaugurated year-round train service from the capital city of Tashkent to the town of Balykchy, Kyrgyzstan, on Thursday, March 22. The service runs once weekly and can carry up to 300 passengers. Additionally, on Tuesday, March 20, train service began between Tashkent and the cities of Saratov and Volgograd in Russia.

Officials have also planned to provide bus service between Tashkent and Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Tashkent and Balykchy (Kyrgyzstan), as well as between the cities of Fergana and Andijan (Uzbekistan) and Osh (Kyrgyzstan).
