Afghanistan: High-profile visit to cause travel restrictions in Kabul April 8

Movement restrictions and police cordons are expected to and from Kabul's Hamid Karzai International Airport (KBL) and Kabul City center - including Airport Road and Massoud Square - throughout the day on Sunday April 8, due to the expected arrival Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim on an official state visit.

Yildirim is believed to be joining the Turkish delegation that is already in the country for formal talks with senior Afghan officials. Heightened security measures and transportation disruptions, including increased security checkpoints, are to be anticipated for the duration of the visit.
