UK: Disruptions in Windsor May 19 for royal wedding

Increased security, localized transportation disruptions expected surrounding royal wedding in Windsor on May 19

On Saturday, May 19, the wedding of Prince Harry and Megan Markle will cause disruptions in Windsor. The wedding ceremony is set to take place at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. Major traffic disruptions are expected in Windsor with 20 roads set to close in the area before and during the ceremony. At 20:00 (local time) on Friday, May 18, the following streets will close: Castle Hill, High Street, Sheet Street, Kings Road, Park Street, St Albans Steet, Market Street, Queen Charlotte Street, Thames Street, River Street, Brook Street, Windsor Greys Roundabout A308 (Peanut roundabout), Albert Road A308. On Saturday the following roads will close: Maidenhead Road, Clarence Road, Alma Road, St Leonards Road, Frances Road, Barry Avenue, Datchet Road. The increase of visitors will likely cause a surge in hotel prices in both Windsor and London.  Heightened security is expected in the areas surrounding Windsor Castle.
