On Thursday, April 19, the Rail, Maritime, and Transport (RMT) union announced that an upcoming strike, planned by RMT members employed by the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) for April 20-24, had been suspended. According to RMT officials, negotiations over the past 13 days have resulted in significant progress on key issues, allowing the union to suspend the action to allow further talks. Normal train service can therefore be expected in the coming days.

Context

The RMT union called for the strike amid an ongoing dispute with the DLR operator, KeolisAmey Docklands. A previous 48-hour strike was held from March 28-29.
