Burundi: Heavy rains cause flooding in Bujumbura May 1

Heavy rain has led to severe flooding in Bujumbura, as of Tuesday, May 1. According to local sources, at least 2500 people have been displaced. The most affected areas include the Kiyange and Sabe neighborhoods, where at least 325 houses have been destroyed, and over 415 more have been damaged. Further flooding is likely in Bujumbura, as rain is forecast to continue through the coming week.
