5.1-magnitude earthquake strikes Gabes region May 21; no casualties reported

A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck the Gabes region (central Tunisia) at 00:18 (local time) on Monday, May 21. The epicenter was located approximately 60 km (40 mi) north-northwest of the city of Gabes. No casualties or significant material damages have been reported.
Context
Tunisia is considered to be located in an active earthquake zone. On March 8, an 4.7-magnitude earthquake was felt in the region of the capital Tunis.
Advice
In the event of an earthquake, individuals are advised to protect themselves as much as possible from falling debris if indoors (e.g. under a table), to move away from windows and exterior walls, and to not attempt to leave the building unless there is an immediate danger.
