Disruptions to internet access continue to be reported as of Wednesday, June 13, throughout Abidjan. According to one telecommunications provider, acts of vandalism carried out between May 31 and June 9 - including the cutting of cables and theft of equipment from the fiber optic network - in the Bietry district of Abidjan are the cause of the disruptions, which have affected several operators. It is unclear when the damages will be repaired and when normal services will resume.

On April 30, a fire damaged a telecommunications technical center in Abidjan, causing internet (fiber optic and ADSL) and mobile data disruptions until May 5.
