Workers at South Western Railway (SWR) - which serves southern England (including the London region) and Wales - have called for a 72-hour strike to take place June 21-23. Reduced services along with overcrowding on available trains are to be anticipated during this three-day period.

Context

As a reminder, various other rail strikes are set to take place in the coming days and weeks in the country. Workers at Northern Rail will be on strike June 19 and June 21. Workers at Greater Anglia rail will be on strike June 16 and June 23. In London, workers at the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) will strike June 13; workers on the Jubilee line of the London Underground will strike June 14.
