US: Storms forecast in the east through August 3

Thunderstorms and heavy rain are forecast for much of the eastern US on Tuesday, July 31; this adverse weather could potentially continue through Friday, August 3. As such, flight delays and cancelations are possible at airports throughout the region in the coming hours and days, including in New York City-Newark (JKF, LGA, EWR), Washington, DC-Baltimore (BWI, DCA, IAD), Philadelphia (PHL), Pittsburgh (PIT), Atlanta (ATL), and New Orleans (MSY). Disruptions are particularly likely in the afternoon and evening (local time). Other transportation disruptions, inducing hazardous driving conditions and rail disruptions, are also possible, along with associated flooding and power outages.
