A magnetic improvised explosive device (MIED) detonated near the Police District 3 police headquarters in the Kart-e-Char area of Kabul on Thursday, August 2, at approximately 19:30 (local time). Police cordons are currently in place surrounding the affected area. No casualties have yet been reported and it is unclear who is responsible for the blast; further details are still emerging.
