Health officials have reported an outbreak of cholera in Algiers, as well as Blida, Tipaza, and Bouira provinces. At least 88 cases, including 41 confirmed cases have been reported as of Friday, August 24. According to reports, the outbreak has been linked to the consumption of contaminated fruit.
Context
Cholera is typically spread via infected water supplies and induces acute diarrhea leading to severe dehydration, frequently resulting in death.
