Australia: State of “intense drought” declared in New South Wales

According to government assessments, New South Wales (NSW), the country’s most populous state, is now fully exposed to drought and 25 percent of its surface is currently suffering from "intense drought." The situation is similar in neighboring Queensland. Water rationing measures are already in effect in NSW, where dams are dry or nearly empty.
