The US Geological Survey recorded a 6.2-magnitude earthquake near Alausi (Chimborazo province) on Thursday, September 6. According to initial reports, the quake hit at approximately 21:12 (local time) about 17 km (10 mi) southwest of Alasui at a depth of 93 km (58 mi). No casualties or damages have been reported as of 21:30. Aftershocks are possible in the coming hours.
