Jordan: Taxi protests in Irbid and Zarqa Sep. 23; more expected

Yellow taxi drivers staged a protest on Sunday, September 23, in the Irbid and Zarqa governorates against the use of app-based ride-sharing services. Drivers are demanding the government take actions to protect taxi drivers from what they claim is unfair competition from these services. Further demonstrations can be expected in the coming days, along with associated traffic disruptions.
