New party elected in Bhutan in October 18 legislative elections

The center-left Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa (DNT) won the October 18 legislative elections, according to the initial results released on Friday, October 19. The DNT, founded in 2013, won 30 of the 47 seats in the National Assembly. The ruling party had already been knocked out of the vote in the first round of legislative elections held on September 15.
Context
These were the third democratic elections to be held in the country since the absolute monarchy system ended in 2008.
