France: Paris-Gare du Nord station to be progressively closed October 20

Event

The Gare du Nord train station in Paris is scheduled to progressively close throughout the day on Saturday, October 20, due to the installation of a control tower. All activities will be fully suspended from 20:30 (local time), at which time the station will be closed. Operations will resume at 05:00 on October 21. Rail operations (RER, Transilien, and high-speed TGV trains) will be significantly impacted.

No high-speed TGV trains will circulate after 20:30. The RER B commuter line will not be in service between Châtelet Les Halles and Le Bourget throughout the day, and liaisons between Paris and Charles-de-Gaulle International Airport (CDG) will be halted from 19:00. The RER D will be suspended between Gare de Lyon and Gare du Nord and between Gare de Lyon and Creil as of 20:30. Trains will be suspended on the H line from Gare du Nord to Saint-Denis during the day, as well as to Ermont-Eaubonne and Sarcelles-Saint-Brice from 20:30. Trains will not operate on the K line from Gare du Nord to Mitry-Claye, and to Crépy-en-Valois as of 19:00. Although metro trains are expected to call at Gare du Nord station on the day, exits leading to the train station are likely to be closed off from 20:30.
