UK: London Tube Piccadilly line strike November 7-8 /update 2

London Tube workers on the Piccadilly line to stage strike November 7-8; transportation to and from London-Heathrow to be affected

Warning

Event

Unions have called for workers on the London Tube's Piccadilly line - which serves Heathrow International Airport (LHR) - to stage a 24-hour strike on November 7-8. Severe disruptions are expected on the line between 12:00 (local time) on Wednesday, November 7, and 12:00 on Thursday, November 8. All other Transport for London (TfL) services will be running as normal but services on the other lines will likely be busier than usual for the duration of the strike.

Context

The Piccadilly line runs between Cockfosters in north London and Acton Town in the West. From Acton Town, it divides into two branches, one serving LHR and the other Uxbridge in northwest London.

Workers are demanding the implementation of policies promised by transportation officials.

Advice

Travelers are advised to plan alternate routes and allow for extra time to reach their destinations for the duration of the strike.
