Australia: Severe weather warning for New South Wales November 28

The Australia Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe weather warning for portions of New South Wales effective Wednesday, November 28. The alert covers coastal areas from Wallis Island (Mid North Coast region) to Jervis Bay (Illawarra region) and inland to Katoomba and the Blue Mountains. Winds of up to 90 km/h (56 mph) are forecast throughout Wednesday and about two months' worth of rain, along with a possibility of flash flooding, is expected throughout the affected area. Meteorologists predict 7-10 cm (2.8-4 in) of rain in Sydney and 15 cm (6 in) in Wollongong with other areas receiving up to 20 cm (8 in). Adverse driving conditions and other transportation disruptions are likely and flight delays cannot be ruled out.
