ATMs and electronic payment services disrupted in Mozambique until further notice; have sufficient cash on hand before arrival

The Mozambican Interbank Corporation (SIMO) has suspended all credit card payment services since November 16 until further notice. This also affects withdrawals at ATMs and electronic payment services. It remains possible to make payments with international credit cards, as well as to withdraw money with an international card, at ATMs operated by the BIM bank.
Advice
Individuals traveling to Mozambique are advised to bring with them a sufficient reserve of cash and to make sure that their bank or credit card is accepted in the country.
