Warning

Event

Multiple protests are scheduled to take place in the capital Paris in the coming days. On Wednesday, December 19, the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) union will hold a demonstration at 10:00 (local time), in front of the Beaugrenelle shopping center. A sixth act of the "yellow vest" movement could also take place either Friday, December 21, or Saturday, December 22, in the capital. Finally, student protests are ongoing as of December 19, at Paris Nanterre and Pantheon-Sorbonne universities, and are expected to persist until December 21. Associated transportation disruptions, along with a heightened security presence, are expected in the vicinity of any demonstration. Clashes between protesters and police forces cannot be ruled out.

As a reminder, police officers will hold a demonstration at 21:30 on Thursday, December 20; protesters will march from Place Clemenceau to Avenue des Champs Elysees.

Advice

Individuals present in Paris are advised to monitor the situation, adhere to any instruction issued by local authorities, and avoid all protests as a precaution.
