France: Taxis driver protests at Paris airports January 22

Ongoing taxi driver protests at Paris’ Orly and Charles de Gaulle airports January 22; transportation disruptions likely

Warning

Event

Taxi drivers are currently protesting as of Tuesday, January 22, at Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Orly (ORY) airports to denounce, among other things, unfair competition with unofficial taxi drivers and VTC network companies. Drivers have reportedly closed taxi ranks at both airports and meet their costumers inside and outside terminals; they have also threatened to block accesses to entrance and exit points of both airports if their demands are not met.

Advice

Travelers are advised to allow extra time to reach their destinations and to avoid all demonstrations.
