Tropical Storm Desmund is expected to bring hazardous weather conditions to eastern Mozambique from Monday, January 21. A strong wind warning has been issued for the provinces of Gaza, Inhambane, Sofala, and Manica, while an heavy rain warning has been issued for the provinces of Inhambane, Sofala, and Manica. The storm is currently forecast to make landfall on Tuesday, January 22, as a « moderate » tropical storm level.
Associated transportation disruptions and flooding are possible.
