Serbia/Kosovo: Red weather alerts issued in multiple regions January 25-26 /update 1

Event

Red weather alerts (the highest level on a four-level scale) for snow and ice were issued on Friday, January 25, in Kosovo, Belgrade, Šumadija and Western Serbia, as well as in parts of Southern and Eastern Serbia. In addition, an orange weather alert (the second-highest level on a four-level scale) is in effect in Vojvodina. According to weather officials, the alerts will remain in effect through Saturday, January 26. Significant transportation disruptions are to be expected and power outages are possible in affected areas.
