Political rallies to held in Harare and Gweru on February 23-24; heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions expected

The Zimbabwe African National Union - Patriotic Front (Zanu-PF) party will reportedly hold a political rally at Robert Mugabe Square in Harare on Saturday, February 23, in support of President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Additionally, the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) opposition party is expected to hold a political rally at the Mkoba Stadium in Gweru (Midlands province) at 11:00 (local time) on Sunday, February 24, in support of party leader Nelson Chamisa. A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are to be expected near the demonstration sites in Harare and Gweru.
