The Australian immigration minister announced on Sunday, March 3, that visitors convicted of domestic violence would be barred from entering the country or deported as of Thursday, February 28. The new rule is an amendment to a previous law that revoked visas for anyone sentenced to 12 or more months in jail. There is no minimum sentence requirement for the domestic violence conviction policy.
