Azerbaijan: Baku to host Grand Prix April 28

Baku will host the Formula 1 Grand Prix on April 28; heightened security measures and disruptions expected April 22-30

Baku will host the Grand Prix at the Baku City Circuit on Sunday, April 28, with events and practice runs beginning Thursday, April 25. The course "fan zone" will open for ticketholders at 10:00 (local time) from Friday, April 26, and events will be held along the course route and its surroundings until 22:00 each night and at Baku Crystal Hall from 18:30 to 23:30 on Saturday, April 27, and Sunday. Heightened security measures, including increased security presence and checkpoints, will be in place for Baku, particularly areas near the circuit.

Road closures will be in effect from 01:00 (local time) on Monday, April 22, to 06:00 Tuesday, April 30 by the Baku City Circuit and surrounding areas, including near the Old City - Icheri Sheher and Azadlig Meydani (Freedom Square). Disruptions are also expected for some bus routes and metro service, particularly the Sahil and Icharishahar metro stations. Access to the National Seaside Park will be restricted for ticketholders from Wednesday, April 24, to Monday, April 29. More information can be found on the Baku Grand Prix website.
