Syria: Bombings kill at least 15 people in Idlib and Hama provinces April 7

Syrian government airstrikes in areas controlled by the Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) group in Idlib province and rebel groups' bombing of the city of Masyaf (Hama province) reportedly killed at least 15 people on Sunday, April 7. Similar attacks are possible in the near term.

Context

To date, the Syrian Civil War - which began in 2011 - involves many parties, including the Syrian government, the Russian government, the Iranian government, the Turkish government, a US-led coalition, and numerous armed groups on the ground (including the Islamic State) with competing goals.
