Haiti: Sit-in protest in Port-au-Prince May 24

Students in Port-au-Prince are planning to launch a sit-in protest in front of the Faculté des Sciences of the University of Haiti on Friday, May 24, to denounce the recent killing of a university professor on May 22, and more generally the growing insecurity across the country as a result of gang violence and to demand that authorities establish a stable security environment.

A heightened security presence and traffic disruptions are likely near the protest site. The risk of associated violence cannot be ruled out.
