Officials will close Kostanay Airport (KSN), which services the Kostanay region, for up to two and a half months beginning on Saturday, June 15, for maintenance work. During the repair period, train and bus services to the capital Nursultan (formerly Astana) will be increased to offset travel disruptions. According to airport officials, after the runway is repaired a new terminal will also be constructed. Increased demand and crowded conditions are possible on trains and buses traveling between the Kostanay region and Nursultan.
