Darwin (Northern Territory) office buildings were evacuated on Monday, June 24, following a large and deep 7.3-magnitude earthquake in Indonesia. The quake, which occurred at 12:23 (local time), rattled buildings in the northern Australian city. The epicenter was located approximately 705 km (435 mi) north-northwest of Darwin at a depth of 208 km (130 mi). No tsunami warning was issued and at least one major aftershock of 5.2-magnitude was recorded at 12:58. Further aftershocks are likely in the coming hours and days.
