The first tremor occurred at 10:05 at a depth of 22 km (13.6 mi) with aftershocks hitting at 10:22, 10:28, and 10:45 at depths of 10 km (6.2 mi). No tsunami warnings were issued; there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage, though the earthquakes did occur in a remote region of the province. Further aftershocks are likely in the coming hours; associated damages to infrastructure are possible.
