Israel/Palestinian Terr.: Shavuot celebrated June 8-10

Israel will observe Shavuot from Saturday evening (local time), June 8, to Monday evening, June 10. Shavuot is celebrated as a public holiday and significant government and commercial disruptions are planned during the celebrations. A heightened security presence is expected throughout the country, particularly near religious sites and in the Old City of Jerusalem. Border crossings may also be closed to Palestinians during and before Shavuot.
