Kenya: Ongoing protest on Nairobi-Mombasa highway June 7 /update 1

Protesters have blocked the Nairobi-Mombasa highway (A104), near the town of Mlolongo, on Friday, June 7, to denounce rising insecurity in the area, following an armed robbery the evening prior in which one businessmen was killed. Significant transportation disruptions are likely over the coming hours on the highway, along with a heightened security presence. Clashes between protesters and security forces cannot be ruled out.
