The US Geological Survey (USGS) reported a 5.5-magnitude earthquake some 8 km (5 mi) east-northeast of Kalamansig (Sultan Kudarat province, Mindanao island) at 04:41 (local time) on Thursday, June 6. The quake struck at a depth of 466 km (289 mi). There were no immediate reports of damages or casualties. Further aftershocks and associated damage are possible in the coming hours and days.
