Indonesia: Moderate earthquake hits near Bali July 16
Geologists record deep 6.0-magnitude earthquake southwest of Bali, near East Java, on July 16; no tsunami warning issued

The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) recorded a 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Java and Bali on Tuesday, July 16, around 08:37 (local time) at a depth of 92 km (57 mi). The quake occurred about 73 km (45 mi) west of Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) in Denpasar (Bali) and 10 km (6.2 mi) south of Alas Purwo National Park (East Java province) at the southeast tip of Java. No casualties or damage has been reported as of 08:45 and no tsunami warning was issued. Further aftershocks are possible in the coming hours.
