Kenya: Nationwide ride-sharing drivers’ strike from July 15

Ride-sharing service drivers to strike in Nairobi and major urban centres from July 15; interruptions to service possible in affected cities over the coming hours

Ride-sharing service drivers are expected to strike in Nairobi and other urban centres from Monday, July 15, until further notice, to demand better salaries and working conditions. Platforms such as Uber, Taxify, Little Cab, Pewin Cabs, and Fone Taxi will all be affected by the strike.

As a result, interruptions to ride-sharing services are anticipated in cities affected by the strikes, notably in Nairobi, over the coming hours and days. Related demonstrations may result in traffic disruptions.
