Warning

Event

A tropical depression in the Pacific Ocean is forecast to strengthen to a tropical storm and pass near the northern island of Luzon between Monday, July 1, and Wednesday, July 3, prompting the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) to issue a Tropical Cylcone Warning Signal 1 for Batanes and Babuyan Group of islands (Luzon). Heavy rainfall and winds up to 60 km/h (37mph) to most part of Luzon, including Metro Manila, are expected in the coming hours and days.

Associated disruptions, including landslides, road closures, and train and flight delays, and cancelations are possible for the entire province. High surf and strong waves are also possible along the coasts.

Advice

Individuals in or traveling through the northern Philippines are advised to monitor local weather reports, maintain flexible itineraries, and anticipate severe weather and associated disruptions, including flight and train delays and cancelations.
