Russia: Navy Day celebrations scheduled in St. Petersburg July 28
The Russian military is to hold a military parade to commemorate Navy Day in St. Petersburg on July 28; heightened security expected

A military parade to commemorate Navy Day will take place on Sunday, July 28, in St. Petersburg. The event will begin at 10:00 (local time), while other festivities to follow, including a music event and fireworks, are expected to end at 22:30. A total of 43 warships, 41 aircraft, and more than 4000 soldiers and officers will participate in the parade.
The Liteyniy, Troitskiy, Palace, and Blagoveshchensky bridges will be closed for the parade from 10:30 through 12:15. Passage to the Senate Square will only be possible through passages.
A heightened security presence and further traffic disruptions are expected in the vicinity of all commemorative sites.
