Militants attack pipeline in Homs July 14; further such attacks possible

Syrian state media reported on Sunday, July 14, that unidentified militants had attacked the gas pipeline linking Al-Shaer gas field with the Ebla Gas Factory in Homs. Officials said that the pipeline that transports 2.5 million cubic meters (660 million gallons) of gas daily was out of service as of the early Sunday afternoon (local time) but that the Petroleum Ministry was working to fix it in the coming hours.

IS militants are still present in the area and continue to target residential areas and vital facilities and military posts. Further attacks are possible.
