UK: Dates of strike at Glasgow Airport amended after July 3 negotiations /update 8

Workers at Glasgow Airport (GLA) call off July 5 & 11 strike; July 12-15 strikes remain as planned; associated flight disruptions expected

Airport workers at Glasgow Airport (GLA) have called off their planned strike scheduled to take place Friday, July 5, and Thursday, July 11, to allow for negotiations with airport management.

Planned strike actions between July 12 and July 15, will take place as scheduled. GLA security officers, fire safety workers, airfield operations officers, and engineering technicians are all planning to participate in the industrial action, which is expected to cause flight disruptions. As of Wednesday, July 3, the full strike schedule will include:

  • Friday, July 12 - between 05:30 and 09:30
  • Saturday, July 13 - between 07:00 and 11:00
  • Sunday, July 14 - between 16:00 and 20:00
  • Monday, July 15- between 05:30 and 09:30

Flight delays and cancelations, as well as disruptions to airport operations, are possible during the strikes.
