Pride parade to be held in London July 6; heightened security measures and associated transportation disruptions expected

The 2019 Pride parade in London is scheduled to be held on Saturday, July 6, between 12:00 (local time) and 17:30, to support equal rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex people. The parade is due to start at Portland Place before proceeding to Whitehall via Oxford Circus, Regent Street, Piccadilly Circus, Lower Regent Street, and Pall Mall. More than 1 million people are expected to attend the event.

Heightened security measures and traffic disruptions are expected around the Pride march. Counterprotests cannot be ruled out.
