Australia: Transport workers to strike at Australian airports August 21
Transport workers are to strike at five airports nationwide on August 21; localized transportation disruptions possible

Members of the Transport Workers Union (TWU) are set to protest in five Australian airports on Wednesday, August 21, in demand for better pay and more guaranteed hours. Up to 200 workers are expected to participate at each protest.
A protest is scheduled at Adelaide Airport (ADL) at 11:00 (local time) at the taxi rank.
Protesters at Coolangatta Airport (OOL) will gather at 11:00 outside the main terminal.
Protesters at Perth Airport (PER) will gather at 11:00 in the Alpha building.
Protests at Sydney Airport (SYD) will begin at 12:15 at the international arrivals terminal.
Protesters at Melbourne Airport (MEL) will gather at 13:00 at the Park Royal Hotel.
Union members have stated they do not seek to disrupt flights, as the mobilization is not a strike and no staff will walk off the job. Normal fight operations should therefore be expected. Localized transportation disruptions are possible.

Individuals traveling via ADL, OOL, PER, SYD, or MEL are advised to monitor the situation and allow additional travel time to the airport in case of transportation disruptions.
