Two security incidents were reported on Tuesday, August 6, in Haiti.

The first incident involved gunfire reported near the US Embassy on Rue Roumain in Port-au-Prince at 14:00 (local time), during which directives were issued to avoid the area. This was linked to a land dispute located behind the Embassy. Authorities declared the area safe as of 15:15, though a heightened security presence is possible.

In the second incident, militants set cars alight and shot at people and cars in Village de Dieu, Carrefour. A confrontation between security forces and militants shortly followed while members of national delegations were reportedly traveling in the area. Sources indicate that all vehicle occupants escaped uninjured.

A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are to be expected over the coming hours and days.
