As of Tuesday, August 20, residents of Lod, along with its Mayor Yair Revivo, are holding a protest outside Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) in Tel Aviv to denounce the noise caused by flight operations, which affects neighboring communities. They are demanding airport authorities to move takeoffs to the airport to reduce the number of planes flying through the city. Protesters have threatened to disrupt airport activities if authorities do not adress their claim. 

Localized transportation disruptions are to be expected near TLV over the coming hours. Normal airport operations should be expected. A heightened security presence is likely.
