Israel/Palestinian Terr.: Protest planned in Ramallah August 7

Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network to stage protest in Ramallah August 7; heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions possible

Warning

Event

The Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network has called for a protest in Ramallah on Wednesday, August 7, to demand the release of Palestinian prisoners and the return of Palestinian refugees. Participants are due to gather at 16:30 (local time) at Manara Square.

A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are likely near the demonstration site. Clashes between police forces and protesters cannot be ruled out.

Advice

Individuals in Israel and the Palestinian Territories are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid all protests due to the risk of violence, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities and their home governments. Some Western governments advise their citizens against all travel to the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and areas near the Israeli-Lebanese, Israeli-Syrian, and Israeli-Egyptian borders.
