Kenya: Violent protest in Nairobi August 29

Police forces used tear gas to disperse protesters gathered in front of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) headquarter in Nairobi as of Thursday, August 29. Protesters intended to storm the building to demand the resignation of the union's secretary general. Related protests are possible in the coming days.

A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are expected in the vicinity of all protests.
