Haiti: Healthcare sector staff to strike and protest in Port-au-Prince on September 16

Haiti's National Federation of Health Workers (FENATRAS) threatened to call a strike in Port-au-Prince for Monday, September 16, to demand that the Ministry of Health respect a memorandum of understanding signed in 2017. Disruptions to healthcare services should be expected during the strike. Related protests are likely to take place around health centers, hospitals, and government offices.

Associated transportation disruptions and a heightened security presence should be expected in the vicinity of any protest.

Due to overall civil unrest and fuel shortages, other protests may take place in parallel throughout the city.
