Japan: Train derails in Yokohama September 5

A highspeed train on the Keikyu Line collided with a truck at a railroad crossing point in Kanagawa-ku (Yokohama) around 11:40 (local time) on Thursday, September 5. Several of the train cars were derailed and at least 32 people suffered injuries in the accident. A police investigation into the incident is ongoing. Rail service on the Keikyu line between Kawasaki and Kamiooka stations has been suspended. Associated transportation disruptions are expected over the coming hours.
