Kenya: Clashes in Kisumu September 18

Police forces fired tear gas to disperse supporters of Kisumu's County Speaker Oyango Oloo, gathered at the County Assembly in Kisumu in the morning (local time) on Wednesday, September 18. Oloo - who is facing impeachment over fraud allegations - and his supporters clashed with police as they attempted to enter the County Assembly building. A heightened security presence is likely around the building in the coming hours; further protests and related disruptions cannot be ruled out.
